More Summer Fun

Here is Wes on the "mon-mower" with Dada.

Grandpa took us on some great train rides...Wes loved
every minute of it!

Wesley tried his first inflatable slide,
on that note it was my first time as well.

.....a dream come true!

I didn't learn my lesson the first time with the

"Oh what do you do in the summer time..."

Wes has become obsessed with choo-choo trains.
My sister and I have decided to sue the company that
makes these trains. They will not stay on
the track very well or hooked together, this causes extreme
frustration in Ammon and Wes. I can hear screaming
and trains flying across the room not only from Wes but through
the phone while talking to my sister :)
I just don't have anything to say about this one...

Wesley's first trip to Chuck-E-Cheese.

This is how Wes likes to watch TV.
What a crazy little boy!

This is the cake Wes destroyed on Father's day that
I talked about in my last post. I had not frosted it
yet so I was able to do a little damage control.

We have had a very exciting and fun summer. It has been very very hot but we have managed to stay cool so far. Wes is growing up fast, he is starting to talk non-stop and really gets into playtime. We have a fun play group that meets once a week. He has a blast going to the swimming pool, story time, free movies at "the big TV", or the park with Ryan, Josh, Eli, and Matthew.
We have also taken on a few projects around the house, it is slowly coming together. I will try to post pictures of the house soon.
I have enjoyed being at home with Wes so much over the past couple of months. We have decided it is best if I put off Nursing School a little longer so I can be at home with Wes. It was a hard decision but I am very happy at home and we feel that it is the best for our family.
Jason will be starting on a new squad in October, we are very excited. His new schedule will be much more conducive to family life.

Wes has discovered watermelon,
he is just like his GroGro.
Wes's first beach trip of the season.
At first he was afraid of the water and would
only play in the sand, then he started to like the water
and we had trouble keeping him out of it.

I have a great little helper in the kitchen now.
Whenever I start cooking something Wes pushes a
chair up to the counter saying "I helpin".
I was recently making a marble loaf and Wes was "helping",
before I could stop him he dumped half a box
of baking soda into it, with the mixer going...needless to say
the marble loaf didn't turn out!

"It's Just another manic monday"...well actually Sunday

Sunday was CRAZY!!! I promised my sister I would blog about it because it was just too much not to share. Sunday started out as a regular day, Jason was working and Wes and I were hurrying to get to church on time. So the normal day ends there! Wes was more energetic than usual, he wore GroGro, Papa, and myself slam out just during the first hour. Then I have been blessed with a calling as a nursery leader...in Wesley's nursery class. I assume they pick out the worst children in the ward and call their mother's to be in nursery with them. I left church worn out and tired...but oh boy if only that was the end of it!
Little side note: Jason is working on growing Fair winning 500lb pumpkins. We have three very large plants with lots of little pumpkins coming up.
Back to my Sunday:
I went out to water the pumpkins (because it's been 800 degrees here) and as I was walking back to the door I could hear Wes messing with the doorknob. I tried to turn it and it was locked. I had no phone, no keys, and I thought about going to the neighbors to call Jason but I was starting to panic so I couldn't even think of Jason's cell number. I tried to talk Wes into unlocking the door and he humored me by jiggling the knob but then he said "naanun" (his word for all done) and walked off. I was thinking this seriously can not be happening...but I have been in this predicament many times before so what is so surprising? Just a minute or two later Wes walked over to the door unlocked it and walked away like there you go dummy.
It took a few minutes to calm down, then I decided to go ahead and have Wes help me make Jason a Father's day card so maybe he could stay out of trouble. I went to the back room to get the supplies. When I came back Wes had chocolate all over his mouth. I asked him where he got chocolate from and he pointed to the kitchen, about that time I remembered that I had made Jason a German Chocolate cake for Father's day and it was sitting on the table. Sure enough I go in there and there are crumbs all over the table but the top is still on the cake. I take the top off and there are two hunks taken out of it. At least he was smart enough to put the top back on and cover up his tracks. If only he would have cleaned off his face, mom would have never known :)
I know these seems like it took the entire afternoon for all of this to take place...but in reality this was all over a 15 minute time period!
HELP!!
If anyone is in good with Super Nanny, send her on over this way!

Wesley's first tea party

Jason, Me, and Wes on the "choo-choo"

I have been very slack, I am going to update my blog so Miriam can see all the craziness that is going on. Wesley and I just returned home Sunday night from a two week long vacation. It was wonderful and we had so much fun, it's difficult to get back to regular everyday life. We were able to spend a week, along with Jason, in Denver to visit with family. We had such a great time! Wesley played hard and got a kick out of feeding his breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the dogs. Wesley had his first real dose of what it is going to be like with lots of girls cousins, he participated in his first tea party with Ella and Kate. He was quite the heavy drinker, Ella barely had time to fill her own cup with Wes constantly asking for more "waher". Wesley, Ella, and Kate are already great friends...I love it! We had the best time shopping, eating, swimming, and just hanging around laughing.
After spending a week in Denver Jason went home to return to work, while Wes and I continued on our journey to spend a week with my sister in Utah. The week really flew by trying to keep 4 kids fed, happy, rested, and safe. Thank goodness there were no major accidents, we did come very close when Wesley decided to "slide" down the climbing wall at the playground. What a crazy kid! We were both worn out at the end of each day but it was worth it! My sister has three beautiful children and even though Ammon and Wes enjoyed taunting each other there were lots of laughs and good times. Poor Lizzie is so good we forgot she was there many times, she smiles and just goes with the flow. It was our first time meeting Lizzie and I'll have to say she's perfect.

Thanks everyone for making our vacation wonderful, we miss you all and love you very much!

Our house

Mama and Wes in the snow

Wes ate two whole hot dogs and
then licked the ketchup off his plate

He really loves his moose!

I don't know where he
got his sense of humor from!

It's a new year and I decided I should try to post on my blog more than last year. That will only take about 3 posts and I will have completed my goal! Anyway, Wes is really growing up and we have taken some really crazy pictures so I thought I would share. I also have a picture of our house, now don't be too judgemental of the house...we haven't been there long and we have a lot of work to do. We don't have the time right now to do much, so right now we are just trying keep up with things as they break. Sometimes it gets a little stressful, like when the heat breaks on a cold winter night. But, it's our house and a little part of me thinks it's fun.

Our life in a nut shell

Sitting with Dada

At the beach with G-ma and G-pa

Wes likes to smell the flowers

Since my last post in August of last year, I started nursing school clinicals, Jason works, Wesley has taken up climbing, and we bought a house. We have had a lot of negative and positive things that have happened over the last few months, I'll just stick to the positive.
Wesley turned one Oct. 25 and entered the terrible twos at the same time. He smiles a lot and likes to laugh but he is VERY active. He can get into anything. After two calls to poison control, one visit to the doctor for falling on his head, and many many cuts and bruises, we've made a bet for when his first emergency room visit will be. We've also come to the realization that no matter how close we watch him, he's a little boy and you can't prevent every accident!
Wesley has also recovered from being a baba addict. He would not give up a bottle for anything. At 13 months he finally relented and took up a sippy cup, boy was that an accomplishment!
He does still depend on a pacifier, he likes to play with his hair and tap his head while enjoying a passy. This tends to be a problem at the dinner table, I am constantly washing food out of his hair.
Jason has been working a lot. We just moved into a house Dec. 1, I use the word house loosely. So far Jason has had to replace a breaker, fix the hot water heater, stop leaky toilets, get the heat to work, and make a new dishwasher work with old plumbing. Jason is becoming quite the handy man! He has been very patient and he works very hard.
I have been studying and taking classes. I am not the best student so this has been difficult but everyone has been so supportive so thankfully I am still plugging away!

Vaccum Ride

I had to post this, Wes loves the vaccum and the other day he figured out how to stand on the front of it. I started to push it and he laughed and laughed. Of course when we got the camera out he didn't laugh anymore but he still loved the ride!
