Our New Little Boy!

He is really looking big!

He looks so cute in his blessing outfit!

Wes and the grandparents

A proud new papa!

Well I'm sure everyone knows by now that we have a new addition to the Jones Family. Wesley Paul Jones was born on October 25, 2008 at 5:39 in the Morning. He weighed in at 9lbs 2oz, measuring 22 1/4 inches tall. He was huge and so cute. We are so grateful to have such a sweet little blessing in our lives. I know that he is very special and we love him very much. He is already starting to show some of his personality. He hates to wear clothes...I guess he's going to be like his cousin Ammon! He loves to take baths, he kicks and splashes the whole time he's in there. We just love him so much and I'm afraid we are already spoiling him, he likes us to hold him when he sleeps..oops! I rarely get time to get on the computer but I'll try to keep up with posting pictures!

I've been TAGGED!

How To Play This Game of Tag: Post these rules on your blog... List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

Ok Miriam I am going to reply to your tag! Here we go...

3 Joys:

#1. I agree with Miriam, being with family. I love just sitting around talking and telling funny stories. There is nothing better than that! I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with Kirk and Carrie at the beach this summer, I hope I didn't talk their ears off. Then I love spending Sunday evenings at Mom and Dad's house just sitting around talking. There are also many nights Jason and I just sit around talking each other's ears off..I love it!

#2. This one is more of a future joy I guess. I'm getting really excited to be a mom. I keep dreaming about him and hoping that I can teach him all the things he needs to be a good man one day!

#3. I also enjoy going to church. (sorry Myrt i'm copying you!) For a while there I was really just going to church because I knew I'd feel bad if I didn't go. My testimony was still very strong but I guess my heart just wasn't in it every Sunday. Jason and I have been making a strong effort to read our scriptures and say our prayers every night together, this has really helped me to get excited again! I love the gospel, I know it's true and I know that my life is so good (even with the trials I go through!) because of the gospel!

3 Fears:

#1. I have a terrible fear of disappointing people! I like to make people happy and I feel horrible if I make someone feel bad or hurt their feelings.

# 2. I have a fear of being alone one day. I hate being alone for too long and I just don't want to be alone. It's a horrible feeling!! I get a little taste of it when Jason works nights. That's good enough, I don't want to be alone any longer than needed!

#3. I have just recently developed a fear of being a bad mom. I want our family to be together forever and I hope I can be a good mom and a good example. I want the gospel to be taught in our home and for our home to be a place where our children can feel the spirit and feel at peace in this busy world!

3 Goals:

#1. I want to learn to sew well. My sister Evelyn has really shown me up when it comes to crafts! My mom is so good and I want to be able to carry that on. I would love to be able to make curtains and clothes and neat stuff like that. I've got a lot of learning to do first though!

#2. I want to finish nursing school. This is really starting to become a frustrating goal, it's taking forever but I AM GOING TO FINISH!!! I am going to be a nurse, I just have to keep telling myself that!

# 3. Go on vacation to Hawaii. Jason would really like to go back and so would I! It is so beautiful. I promised Jason that we would go when we both graduate, I guess we better start saving up!!

3 Current obsessions/collections:

#1. I am really getting obsessed with getting our finances in-line and budgeting. I love getting a good deal on something! I hate paying full price for anything and I am always trying to save a buck or two! (This might fall under my faults category!!)

#2. Well of course right now getting the baby's stuff all together and his room set up just right. I'm driving Jason crazy trying to move furniture everywhere and then back to where it was before :)

#3. Just getting organized..I guess you can say i'm in the "nesting stage". I am so tired of everyting being shoved in a closet and hard to find or laying out everywhere. I am working really hard to get everything in place and ready for total chaos in a couple of weeks!

3 Random Surprising Facts about Myself:

#1. I am a total stress case! I can't hide it from Jason all that well but usually I can hide it from others! I used to not worry about ANYTHING, not even the most important stuff. Now things just eat me up inside and I chew the inside of my mouth to pieces when i'm stressed!

#2. I am very stubborn. I know this doesn't come as a surprise to most. I don't like a lot of help. This is something I'm really trying to work on, but I still really like to do things myself. I guess I'm more like a 2 year old than a 23 year old. I just don't like to know that I can't do something!

#3. I absolutely love to be outdoors, especially this time of year! I love the crisp nights, the leaves changing, pumpkins on front porches, Halloween, the State Fair, everything! I love camping this time of year and having bond fires, roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. I also love NC State football, I'd rather be at the games then listen to them on the radio or watch on T.V. but I would love to one day have season tickets. I am so excited that Fall is just around the corner and this year we are going to be sharing it with our little boy!

That was fun, Thanks Myrt for tagging me! I hope ya'll learned a few things about me! :)
I guess i'll tag Ena and Jean. They are the only ones that might check my blog and haven't been tagged!

May

May was a very busy month! We were blessed to have Jason's parents and Grandmother here the second weekend in May for Mother's Day and Jason's Graduation from the Police Academy. It was a wonderful weekend, it started off with us finding out that we are going to be having a little boy in October. Later that day, we signed all the paperwork to purchase our first car together. Proudly we drove our new car to the hotel to meet Jason's family. We were so excited to see everyone, it had been a while since the last time we were able to spend time with Jason's family. We took a spin in our new car with Jason's parents and Grandmother to find that our newly purchased car was leaking gas...more like pouring gas out of the front end. I was in total shock! We called the man we bought the car from and he told us to quickly bring it in and they would give us a rental car for the weekend. We couldn't even make it to the car lot, so they came to us thank goodness. I decided right there this could be the start to either a really bad weekend or we could be on the up swing and everything would go great from here! Thank goodness everything else went smoothly. We had a relaxing weekend with lots of time to spend with family. Jason Graduated Monday May 12th and Miriam made a beautiful cake to celebrate.
The Next few weekends were just as busy. My dad celebrated his birthday at a crime scene while we all ate his Birthday dinner without him. My sister and her two precious children came to town so she could get her wisdom teeth taken out and to help with the surprise birthday party for my mom. We actually surprised my mom for the first time in probably forever with a 50th birthday Luau! It was really fun. Jason was sworn in as a Garner Police officer May 23rd.
Then we finished off the month with Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary party. May went by too quick, we loved all the time we got to spend with family!

Camping

I am a terrible blogger! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update the blog. I have no excuse! My sister with two children blogs more than I do! First thing first, we went camping with my parents. It was so much fun. We showed Jason where we used to camp when I was little and all the neat places I remember visiting when I was little. We even stopped in Sparta during their fall festival. As you can see in the pictures we practiced up for the State Fair! I love the Mountains this time of year with the leaves are changing and the air is a little crisp. It was a wonderful trip, I loved every minute of it (it was actually really warm the whole time, but still great!).

Just a little hike.

Hangin out at an old cabin in the woods!

Here we hiked up to a beautiful overlook.

Jason ordering the "BIG-D". Just Kidding he

just got the German sausage!

Here's a match made in Heaven!

A Week At The Beach

Jason is trying to bring up his prize winning King Mackerel here!

Here is Kirk reeling in a big one!

It's been a long time since my last post, but there hasn't been much to talk about until now. Jason's parents came in for a visit! We had so much fun. They flew in on Friday night really late. Saturday Jason and Kirk went to the Dixie Gun Show while Carrie and I shopped at the outlet mall in Smithfield. We went out to eat with my parents and little sister that night to Red, Hot, and Blue. That was some good eatin. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday we all spent time togther and relaxed. THEN Tuesday evening we left for a vacation at Emerald Isle. We stayed in a really nice condo right on the beach. It was so relaxing and we did lots of things I had never done down at the beach before. Wednesday we started out by going Deep Sea fishing. It was a little rough so we didn't go too far out. I caught mostly sharks, but Jason and Kirk caught our dinner! They fought some great King Mackerel and we fried those up for dinner. They were really tasty! We finshed off the week with lots of beach time, a Ghost Tour of Beaufort, shopping in Swansboro, and tons of good things to eat. It was great to spend time with family!

Jason's prize was $5 for catching the largest fish.

Our catches of the day..they let me hold one of their fish since I only caught throw backs!

We celebrated Jason's 25th Birthday while we were at the beach!

Jason and I in spooky Beaufort before we went on the Ghost Walk.
